WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING| THE ROLE
Development Project Accountant to manage job costing and draw request for a portfolio of multifamily ground-up and rehab projects.  This role works very closely with the Development team on project closings, debt and equity fundings, budget to actual performance and overall financial management for development projects.
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare and provide draw request to lenders and equity providers for reimbursement of costs related to the multifamily development project.
- Ensure payment to general contractors and other service providers during the construction period.
- Update development project budget with actual costs along with contingency maintenance.
- Reconcile development project job cost ledgers to general ledger monthly.
- Maintain financial statements of the development project entity along with supporting annual audits and cost certifications.
- Provide monthly reporting on status of assigned development projects.
- Coordinate with Development team to obtain necessary documentation and approvals and work closely with vendors, lenders and equity providers.
WHAT YOU BRING| THE PERSON
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
- 2 – 5+ years of development accounting experience
- Proficiency with job cost accounting software (Yardi or others), Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent written communication skills for correspondence with lenders and investors.

- Knowledge of LIHTC development process
- Experience with affordable housing or property management accounting
- Experience with AIA pay applications, change orders and lien waivers
