Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$36.830 - $47.530 - $53.230

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.


What You Will Do
To develop and implement strategies for the Foundation's Annual Giving Membership (gifts of $1,000 - $9,999) and Special Event programs, including: Membership, Annual Gala, Golf Tournament, and stewardship events. Work closely with the Chief Development Officer in supporting all philanthropic efforts, and work with Foundation staff in implementing system wide best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 Years experience in fund development (preferably in a health care setting).
  • Experience to include planning and organizing fund-raising activities, writing proposals to donors outlining health programs that are understandable to a non-medical audience, asking for donations diplomatically and professionally.
  • Experience with utilizing general office equipment, MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and have excellent English usage and writing skills.
  • Driver's License - CA Department of Motor Vehicles - REQUIRED


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in working with volunteers.
  • Experience interacting with board members and key Sharp administrative staff.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (equivalent combination of education and experience in annual fund raising may substitute). - Required


Essential Functions

  • Annual Giving/Membership
    Develop strategy for gift approaches in all divisions of Annual Giving membership ($1,000-9,999) giving societies.
    Ensure the successful implementation of the Membership program, following Best Practices as outlined by SHF.
    Maintain donor wall updates for annual, lifetime and employee giving donor recognition following Best Practices as outlined by SHF (every 18 months).
    Identify, research, and solicit potential sources of gift support including individuals, corporations, community organization and foundations to ensure that annual budgeted membership/personal solicitation goals are met.
  • Fundraising coordination
    Provide logistical support for all cultivation/campaign specific events, including, but not limited to: creating and printing invitations, catering coordination and day-of execution.
    Conduct patient visits as needed in conjunction with the lead fundraiser for CHF.
  • Special events
    Provide logistical support for revenue producing special events (Gala and Golf Tournament) to include: auction assistance, volunteer coordination and management and other activities as needed.
    Assure all activities are accurate, meet established deadlines, and meet needs of staff, volunteers and committee members.
    Meet budgeted revenue goal for auction for Gala and Golf Tournament.
    Logistical support of annual Membership Mixer and Partner in Health holiday party including printed materials, catering and entertainment coordination.
    Perform duties with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
