Your opportunity:

The University College Advancement Office oversees all fundraising, donor relations, stewardship and alumni relations activities at University College. As the Development Officer, you will be responsible for Annual Gift fundraising, including direct mail and email campaigns. You will also be identifying, cultivating and soliciting donors to consider a Leadership Gift to University College, and contributing to the College’s donor engagement and stewardship strategy that maintains the donor's involvement, interest and support.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and managing a portfolio of donors and prospects by engaging in prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and recognition.
• In collaboration with University Advancement, planning and delivering UC’s Annual & Leadership Giving Campaign.
• Developing and implementing donor engagement plans that support strategic objectives.
• Preparing donor acknowledgement and recognition communications along with writing briefing notes, solicitation plans and call reports to track donor interaction.
• Working in a supportive capacity with Senior Development Officer and Director, Advancement complex or large gifts.
• Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
• A minimum of five (5) years’ of relevant experience in a fundraising or relationship management role with a demonstrated track record of success.
• Experience developing and delivering fundraising and/or engagement campaigns, from strategic planning through execution and evaluation.
• Experience with information, data management and preparing donor financial reporting.
• Demonstrated prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and recognition experience.
• Demonstrated experience drafting complex donor communications.
• Experience working with fundraising/constituent databases such as ARBOR, CRM or comparable systems.
• Experience working with senior volunteers, researchers or faculty members.
• Experience working with and supporting diverse populations, with a demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
• Evidence of leadership and initiative, tact, diplomacy, attention to detail, and creativity.
• Proven ability to motivate others, i.e. volunteers, team members, and donors.
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in complex multi-stakeholder environments such as education and healthcare, working with academics and physicians whose vision for changing the world demands both excellence and results
• Highly developed computer skills working with MS Office; databases; and content management systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment.
• Strong team player who values collaboration.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical and relationship building skills.

Assets (Nonessential):

• Previous experience working in post-secondary or not for profit organization.
• Demonstrated experience in frontline fundraising role
• Progress toward or achievement of the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:

USW Pay Band 13 -- $86,340. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $110,415. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
