Permit Approvals is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling all building permit review and approval activities, as well as the efficient and timely review and approval of other municipal permit applications.
You are responsible for the delivery of accurate and up-to-date technical information and advice with respect to written, telephone and in-person requests for information about the City of Ottawa’s Official Plan and Amendments, Subdivision and Condominium procedures, site plan and consent/variance applications, Zoning By-law and other related by-laws, statutes and enabling legislation.
You are required to provide technical information and appropriate referrals with respect to the overall approval processes involved in the creation and development of lands. You are the primary initial contact with the city for a wide variety of clients regarding planning and development matters.
Completion of 3 year community college diploma or university degree in Construction, Public Administration, Urban Planning or Law
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with land use developmental by-laws at the level of responsibility covered in the job description
