About the role

As a Development Engineer Gas Diffusion Electrodes, you contribute to the development and experimental validation of electrochemical devices and processes. You work from concept through lab-scale demonstration, with a focus on electrodes, catalyst layers, membranes and electrochemical cell architectures.

In this VeroTech consultancy role, you combine hands-on experimentation with scientific analysis to improve device and process performance. You investigate performance, selectivity, stability and transport limitations, then translate data into clear technical conclusions and practical improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and experimentally validate electrochemical devices and processes from concept to lab-scale demonstration
• Design, fabricate and test electrodes, catalyst layers, membranes and electrochemical cell architectures
• Plan and execute experiments to assess performance, selectivity, stability and transport limitations
• Analyze experimental data and identify links between measurements, mechanisms and device behavior
• Translate test results into device or process improvements and clear technical conclusions

Requirements

What we're looking for

We are looking for an analytical and hands-on engineer with a strong scientific foundation in electrochemical systems and the ability to work effectively in collaborative R&D environments.

• Strong background in electrochemistry, chemical engineering, materials science or a related discipline
• Hands-on experience with electrochemical cells, electrodes, membranes or gas-diffusion electrode systems
• Ability to design rigorous experiments and perform electrochemical and physicochemical characterization
• Strong data analysis and scientific problem-solving skills, with the ability to connect measurements to mechanisms and device behavior
• Ability to work across disciplines and communicate results through technical documentation, presentations and collaborative R&D
