Job Description

The Impact You'll Make

At Danfoss Sensing Solutions, we develop advanced sensing technologies supporting applications across the Danfoss portfolio. Our work includes solutions for areas such as data centers, gas sensing, energy-efficient cooling, and environmental monitoring.

As our Development Engineer, you’ll help bring new sensing technologies and product concepts from idea to reality. Working alongside experienced engineers and technology specialists, you’ll contribute to developing products supporting our Data Center, Gas Sensing, and future technology programs.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across different areas of engineering, from mechanical design and prototyping to testing and integration with electronics and software. With a solid foundation in mechanical and electrical engineering and a curiosity to learn, you’ll build hands-on experience while contributing to meaningful product innovation from day one.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll work across a variety of development activities, gaining exposure to different engineering disciplines while helping bring new ideas and technologies to life.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the development of new sensing products and technology platforms from concept generation through prototype development and testing
  • Creating CAD models, drawings, fixtures, mechanical components, and development tooling to support new product designs
  • Building, assembling, and evaluating prototypes, while collecting and analyzing test data to support engineering decisions
  • Collaborating with engineers across mechanical, electronics, software, and systems disciplines to mature new concepts and solve technical challenges
  • Contributing to design verification, technical investigations, and engineering documentation

As your experience grows, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills across product development and explore different technical disciplines based on your strengths and interests.

What We're Looking For

You don’t need to have experience in every area of the role. What matters most is a strong mechanical foundation, a practical mindset, and the curiosity and motivation to keep learning.

To be successful in this role, we would expect you to have:

  • A BSc or MSc degree in Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • A solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals
  • Experience using CAD tools for design and engineering documentation
  • Practical, hands-on engineering experience gained through work, university projects, internships, or personal projects
  • Curiosity, initiative, and an interest in developing your skills across different engineering disciplines

It would be an advantage if you have gained exposure to one or more of the following through work, studies, projects, or personal interests:

  • Product development
  • Prototyping and testing
  • Electronics and sensors
  • Software development

What You'll Get from Us

You’ll join an environment where collaboration, learning, and continuous development are part of how we work, with the opportunity to broaden your experience as you grow in the role.

  1. We promote from within and support your learning with mentoring, training, and access to global opportunities.
  2. You’ll have flexibility, autonomy, and support to do your best work while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Your well-being matters to us.
  3. We strive to create an inclusive work environment where people of all backgrounds are respected, and valued for who they are.
  4. You’ll receive benefits like annual bonus, paid vacation, pension plans, personal insurance, and more. These vary by country and contract, but they’re worth asking about—we think they’re pretty great.
