We're looking for a creative, organized, and mission-driven Development Communications & Marketing Specialist to help tell those stories and inspire community support.

In this role, you'll help execute our fundraising communications strategy through compelling digital content, email marketing, social media, and event support. You'll collaborate with colleagues across departments to engage donors, celebrate community impact, and strengthen connections with the people who make our work possible.

If you're a strong communicator who enjoys writing, creating digital content, and using your skills to support a mission that matters, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As our Development Communications & Marketing Specialist, you will:

  • Create, edit, and distribute digital fundraising and marketing communications, including email campaigns, social media content, and digital advertising.
  • Support the execution of Goodman Community Center's digital fundraising strategy.
  • Collaborate with Development and Communications staff to develop marketing plans that support fundraising initiatives and other revenue opportunities.
  • Help manage Goodman Community Center's social media presence, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Assist with website updates and digital content management.
  • Support approximately four fundraising events each year by coordinating online registration, creating digital materials, and providing on-site event support.
  • Help maintain donor records and respond to donor inquiries.
  • Assist with photography, digital asset management, and graphic design projects.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of email, social media, and other digital communications.
  • Contribute to additional communications and development projects as needed.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent written, verbal, and editing skills.
  • Experience creating digital content using email marketing platforms such as Constant Contact, Mailchimp, Emma, or similar tools.
  • Experience creating graphics using Canva or comparable design software.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, social media platforms, email tools, and databases.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to seek and incorporate feedback.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for fundraising as a way to support community impact and social change.
  • Commitment to working respectfully with people of diverse backgrounds, identities, abilities, and experiences.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work evenings or weekends for events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience in fundraising, development, or nonprofit communications (internship experience counts).
  • Experience developing and managing email marketing campaigns, including writing, design, deployment, and analytics.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing and social media best practices.
  • Experience analyzing website, email, and social media performance metrics.
  • Familiarity with Google Ads or the Google Ad Grant program.
