Today, we're recruiting an Developer Lead for our client, Chain of Events, the company behind the events where the people shaping technology actually meet — based in Paris.

About the company

Chain of Events runs three summits, all in Paris, all within the same week

• Signal Week — the institutional summit for digital assets. Founded in 2019 as Paris Blockchain Week and elevated to Signal Week in 2026, it draws 10,000+ attendees from 100+ countries, roughly 70% of them C-suite. Its last edition convened 250+ banks and financial institutions, over $50T in assets under management, and 70 government officials and regulators — BlackRock, J.P. Morgan, Deutsche Bank, Fidelity, BNY Mellon, Citi, the London Stock Exchange, ESMA and the European Commission among them. The thesis: TradFi and digital assets are no longer two industries but one financial system being rebuilt on shared rails.
• RAISE Summit — the AI summit for decision-makers. Launched in 2024, it has grown from 2,000 to 9,000+ attendees across three editions (80%+ C-level, from 76 countries), with 350+ speakers spanning AI infrastructure, enterprise adoption, agentic systems, sovereignty and policy. The 2026 edition at the Carrousel du Louvre featured Mark Cuban, Yann LeCun and Nelson Griggs (Nasdaq), plus the Versailles AI Gala, the RAISE Hackathon and RAISE the STAKES (1,100+ startup applications in 2026).
• MACHINA Summit — Europe's leading event dedicated to Physical AI: intelligence that acts on the real world through humanoids, industrial robotics, autonomous systems and next-generation human–machine interfaces. Its inaugural 2026 edition brought together the labs building humanoids and the enterprises deploying robotics at scale, with speakers from Google DeepMind, Boston Dynamics, NVIDIA, 1X, Apptronik and Agility Robotics. It's the fastest-moving brand in the portfolio, with the most white space ahead of it.

In July 2026, all three brands were acquired by Hyve Group, the global B2B events organiser behind Fintech Meetup, HLTH and Shoptalk. In July 2027, they'll converge on the Palais des Congrès during the exact same week.

Role Overview

Chain of Events is looking for a part-time, freelance Developer Lead to own the MACHINA Summit website and web experience, reporting into the Developer Lead for RAISE and MACHINA and working closely with the Senior Marketing Manager for MACHINA and the RAISE design team. This is a hands-on build role for a developer who can take a design from Figma to a fast, polished, production-ready site - and who uses AI-assisted development tools as a natural part of how they work.

Chain of Events is modernising its summit websites, moving from Webflow towards a Next.js platform shared across the portfolio. You'll support MACHINA's part of that move: building parts of the site and new landing pages once the base has been constructed, connecting them to HubSpot and the team's automation tools, and making sure the MACHINA web experience matches the ambition of a brand that is doubling in size and reaching a more international audience.

Key Responsibilities

Web Build & Delivery

• Lead the build and ongoing development of the MACHINA website and campaign landing pages, from Figma designs to production.
• Translate the MACHINA design system into reusable, well-structured front-end components.
• Own site performance, accessibility, SEO foundations, and analytics tracking, so the site is fast, discoverable, and measurable.
• Ship updates quickly during peak periods - speaker drops, agenda changes, ticketing moments - without compromising stability.

Platform & Integration

• Work with the RAISE web and development team and external delivery partners on the shared platform, component library, and hosting.
• Integrate the site with HubSpot (forms, tracking, lead capture) and ticketing, and support the team's automation workflows - for example, connecting speaker and partner data to the CMS.
• Set up and maintain the CMS so the marketing team can update content independently.
• Support localisation and multi-language pages as MACHINA grows its international and APAC audiences.

AI-Assisted Development

• Use AI coding and build tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, Lovable, or similar) to move fast while keeping code quality high.
• Help the marketing team prototype landing pages, microsites, and internal tools quickly, and advise on what's worth building properly.

Technical Ownership

• Act as the technical point of contact for MACHINA marketing - scoping requests, estimating effort, and prioritising the web backlog.
• Document decisions, components, and processes so the site is easy to maintain and hand over.

What You'll Bring

Experience & Knowledge

• Solid experience as a front-end or full-stack developer, with live marketing or product sites you can show (indicative: 3–5 years, adjust as appropriate).
• Strong skills in React, Next.js, and TypeScript, with experience of headless CMS platforms and modern hosting (e.g. Vercel).
• Experience integrating marketing tools - HubSpot or a similar CRM, analytics (GA4, Tag Manager), and third-party APIs.
• A sharp eye for design implementation, performance, and SEO.
• Genuine enthusiasm for AI-assisted development, with hands-on experience using AI tools in a professional workflow.

Working Style

• Ambitious and self-directed - comfortable owning a product end to end as a part-time freelancer.
• Fast and pragmatic, balancing speed with maintainable, well-documented code.
• Easy-going and collaborative, able to explain technical trade-offs clearly to non-technical colleagues.
• Reliable and responsive during peak campaign moments.
• A genuine interest in technology and AI - robotics and physical AI should interest you too.

Nice to Have

• Experience migrating sites from Webflow or another no-code platform to a coded stack.
• Experience with event, ticketing, or high-traffic launch sites.
• Motion and interaction experience (e.g. Framer Motion, GSAP, Lottie).
• Internationalisation (i18n) experience, including non-Latin scripts.

Social moves quickly, and so does the event cycle - expect steady weeks of planning and creation alongside busy peaks around announcements, launches, and side events. The ability to stay organised, communicate clearly, and keep your creative standard high under pressure is essential.
