About the position
We are seeking a Developer, Cyber Detection to join our Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC) team. In this role, you will help strengthen the Bank of Canada’s ability to detect, analyze, and respond to cyber threats that could affect the systems and services that support Canada’s central bank.
Reporting to the Program Manager, you will be part of a multi-faceted Cyber Engagement team that brings together expertise from across cyber security domains to support the BOSS program. The team provides practical, risk-informed security recommendations that help BOSS make timely delivery decisions while ensuring cyber risks are clearly identified, documented, owned, and addressed. This includes working across areas such as monitoring and response, identity and access management, application security, security architecture, vulnerability management, and security assurance to help align delivery outcomes with the Bank’s cyber security standards and risk tolerance.
You will have the opportunity to contribute recommendations on processes, tools, and detection approaches while working with modern enterprise cyber security solutions. This is a role for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, learning continuously, and helping improve cyber defence capabilities as threats and technologies evolve.

Your education and experience
This position requires a relevant degree or diploma in cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field. Prior experience is great, but what truly matters is your curiosity, your willingness to learn, and your ability to adapt in the ever-evolving world of cybersecurity. Most employees can telework from home for a portion of each month as part of the Bank’s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of 12 days per month to help build connections between colleagues.
