The Role

The Despatch Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the smooth and efficient coordination of warehouse despatch, freight bookings, customer service and logistics administration.

This role works closely with Sales, Warehouse teams, drivers, couriers and customers to organise picking documentation, schedule orders, arrange freight, monitor despatch communications and help ensure deliveries are coordinated accurately and on time.

You will also support general warehouse administration, quality documentation, Proof of Delivery records, order follow-up and safe despatch practices in line with company procedures.

What You’ll Bring

  • Intermediate logistical skills and IT skills – Computer literacy.
  • High level of prioritising and organisational skills, along with strong multitasking skills.
  • Knowledge of Warehousing procedures and functions.
  • Demonstrated independent work initiative, sound judgement, diplomacy, analytical ability and professional behaviour.
  • Professional customer service and persistence to complete jobs.
  • Intermediate level of training in database skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Stainless-Steel Products (Desirable).
  • Forklift Licence (Desirable).

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, prioritise and organise picking slips, documentation and warehouse scheduling.
  • Coordinate sales orders, shop sales orders and picking orders by priority.
  • Liaise between Sales, Warehouse, truck drivers and couriers to support smooth despatch operations.
  • Manage logistics transactions and administration, including booking and arranging freight for deliveries, collections and transfers.
  • Monitor and action the shared despatch email and follow up on critical or outstanding orders.
  • Provide customer service to internal and external customers, including greeting customers and couriers, answering enquiries and directing customer needs.
  • Support Quality & Systems processes by liaising with the Quality Assurance team on documentation, training material and Standard Work Practices.
  • Provide divisional support across warehouse despatch, receival, storage, processing and administration.
  • Ensure Proof of Delivery documentation is scanned, recorded and maintained accurately.
  • Support safe despatch practices, including packaging checks, chain of responsibility requirements, building security and lock-up procedures.
  • Assist with training and support for coordinators in freight carrier portals and booking processes.
