Job Description
The
Desktop Support Technician
will support Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) onsite in Austin, Texas. The role serves as a key resource on a technical services team, providing advanced desktop and end-user support across hardware, software, and productivity platforms. The technician will troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware and software issues, provide white-glove support to executive-level users, and support video tele-conferencing solutions. This individual will also serve as a local leader and mentor to junior technicians, contributing to process creation and project leadership.
Responsibilities
:
Perform installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of personal computers (PC) and related systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware failures.
Identify network problems as they relate to personal desktop and laptop computers.
Provide technical support to end users across the organization.
Deliver white-glove, executive-level technical support.
Support video tele-conferencing solutions such as Cisco Webex.
Provide training to end users on hardware, software, and related systems.
Create and lead process improvement efforts and project initiatives.
Serve as a local leader and mentor to junior Technicians.
Apply and stay current on new technologies relevant to desktop support.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
:
Candidates must meet all minimum qualifications
5 years of experience providing end-user support; supporting personal computer hardware and routine software installation; troubleshooting IT hardware and peripherals in an enterprise environment; and supporting Microsoft Productivity tools such as Office 365 and MS Teams.
4 years of experience providing "white-glove" executive-level support and supporting video tele-conferencing solutions such as Cisco Webex.
Preferred Qualifications
:
5 years of experience creating technical knowledge articles.
5 years of experience working in a multi-vendor support environment.
4 years of experience utilizing ServiceNow in a support environment.
Additional Requirements
:

Must currently reside within 50 miles of the Austin, Texas work location.
1,790 hours over a 9-10 month contract period, with opportunity for renewal.
Criminal background check and drug screening in accordance with Federal and State law.
Offers of employment are contingent upon a successful background check.
