What You’ll Do

Reporting to the Manager of Endpoint Solutions and guided by Senior Technicians, the Desktop Support Engineer handles operational break/fix issues, upgrades, and maintains end-user devices during refresh intervals and new device projects. This role provides technical support, consultation, training, and helps develop enterprise technology standards, supporting end-user devices across all organization levels and IT teams. Knowledge of client/server operating systems, mobile device management systems, and desktop support software is required. The Desktop Support Engineer follows established procedures, workflows, and tools to provide support and customer service for systems aiding patient care and Freeman Health System operations, offering technical assistance both remotely and on-site. Additionally, the role involves leading team-level projects, training team members, and assisting in strategic planning for complex systems.

Responsibilities

  • Travel between Freeman Health, Ozark Center, and affiliate locations for support, training, and implementation.

  • Provide break/fix support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and endpoint hardware.

  • Install, implement, educate, and support Windows OS, macOS, iOS, Android, and other endpoint operating systems.

  • Support enterprise and clinical applications, and Office 365.

  • Coordinate with third-party vendors for escalations and hardware replacements.

  • Manage endpoint lifecycle, including replacements, upgrades, and implementations.

  • Configure, deploy, and manage printers and faxing technologies.

  • Support and maintain Audio/Visual tools, collaboration tools, and VoIP hardware.

  • Implement and support clinician technology in clinical settings.

  • Configure and support basic wireless and network settings.

  • Provide onsite and remote technical assistance to end users.

  • Develop standard configurations and documentation.

  • Coordinate hardware warranties with vendors.

  • Provide IT support for events, meetings, and disaster recovery.

  • Support Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting.

  • Document issues and resolutions in the ITSM platform.

  • Track and document assets and configuration items.

  • Provide on-call support as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Business, or related field (2 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree in addition to experience below).

  • 2 years of relevant work experience.

  • Comptia A+, or other preferred certifications listed within the first 120 days of hire (5 years of experience in similar role will be considered in lieu of A+).

  • Demonstrated success troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose problems in an enterprise environment for endpoints and mobile devices.

  • Demonstrated success translating business needs into operational requirements.


Preferred Requirements:

  • Net+, CCNA, Security+, Microsoft Endpoint System Administrator or other similar grade or higher certifications.

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a Healthcare setting.
