Job Description

We are seeking a Designer/Drafter CAD Technician who will be responsible for supporting engineering and manufacturing by working closely with the engineering department to perform engineering change orders tasks within the SYSMFG division. This position is also responsible for performing other technical tasks using SolidWorks to convey fabrication and assembly details to the production team. Other responsibilities include Drafting/CAD support to new product development activities and performing drawing checks.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains engineering drawings and files and may assist in other engineering related projects as needed.
  • Drafting engineering drawings using SolidWorks
  • Perform Engineering Change Order tasks
  • Take directions from engineers to draw or sketch pump station designs and other components
  • Create digital files that are used for CNC fabrication equipment such as pipe cutting equipment, waterjet, laser cutting.
  • Interact with ERP system to create Bill-of-Materials in Peoplesoft and Oracle Fusion
  • Support manufacturing with drawings required to fabricate or assemble pump station welded pipe and assembly.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience in using SolidWorks
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high-paced office facility environment.
  • Knowledge of basic engineering fundamentals such as welding practices, machine design, sheet metal design, and dimensional layout work.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • SolidWorks Certification
  • Associates degree in CAD technology
