Structural SCR CAD Designer

The Structural SCR CAD Designer is responsible for developing MicroStation 3D and AutoCAD drawings for the 3D Design and Plant Layout Engineering Team. This role involves creating detailed structural designs for SCR systems, reviewing fabrication drawings, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and codes. The position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and collaboration with internal teams and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop SmartPLANT P&ID and 3D drawings for SCR systems, including converting existing AutoCAD drawings.
  • Create detailed structural drawings in MicroStation 3D and AutoCAD for SCR gas duct systems, including plans, elevations, layouts, and material takeoffs.
  • Design ductwork and structural components for SCR systems, ensuring OSHA compliance for ladders, stairways, and platforms.
  • Design equipment skid bases and pipe support systems.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to meet drawing production targets.
  • Review and check shop fabrication documents.
  • Collaborate with Civil, Process, and Exhaust System teams on proposals and general arrangements.
  • Maintain familiarity with engineering codes such as AISC, AWS, ASTM, and OSHA.
  • Comply with all safety policies and report unsafe activities.
  • Contribute to team efforts and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; minimum 10 years of experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation 3D.
  • Familiarity with ductwork design for power plants and boiler applications.
  • Experience with SCR systems preferred.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering or drafting desirable for complex projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation 3D.
  • Strong understanding of geometry, trigonometry, and material calculations.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions and solve complex problems.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, and graphic software.
