Your Role
As a Senior Designer in Gensler Los Angeles’ Sports Studio, you will create and develop overall design concepts, formulate design presentation strategies, and provide creative process leadership to multiple design teams through all phases of projects. You will be successful because you have exceptional design skills, a proven track record of leading architectural projects, and enjoy mentoring and developing architectural design teams.

What You Will Do
Work with office and regional leadership in business development efforts to grow our Sports practice in the Southwest region through expanding existing client relationships and developing new relationships and diversifying our lines of work
Provide vision for proposals and strategy for interviews to secure project opportunities
Lead the design process for projects of all scales and types within the Sports practice including guidance of other team members to develop cohesive, innovative, and client-centric solutions
Collaborate with all involved design teams to deliver informed project solutions based on market expertise and deep understanding of client goals
Lead the relationships with the client, contractor, agencies, as well as engineering and specialty consultants
Work closely with office leadership to identify and recruit best-in-class talent
Actively mentor junior team members in their growth in the profession and the sports practice area
Strengthen our market reputation and image through thought leadership that is based on value proposition and a differentiated Point of View
Partner with office directors to establish budgetary framework and investment strategies for growing the practice
Your Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture or Interior Design
15+ years of experience as an architectural designer leading the design of sports venues and/or training centers for both core & shell and interiors
Must be able to develop original design concepts
Must be able to work in a collaborative environment
Must be proficient in Revit
Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
Knowledge of materials, construction techniques and building codes
Strong knowledge of the design process
Outstanding conceptual 3-dimensional thinking and graphic presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideas
Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development
Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly
A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
Strong leadership, organization, communication, and relationship management skills
