Job Description

We are looking for a Social Media Creative Designer with 3-5 years of experience creating social-first content in an advertising, marketing, or communications environment. You will work closely with our social media team to concept and create platform-specific content across organic and paid social, including static graphics, infographics, carousels, animations, short-form video, and other emerging formats.

The ideal candidate understands how to bring brand identities to life in social environments rather than simply adapting traditional creative for social. You should have a strong eye for engaging, platform-native design and the ability to quickly translate complex topics into clear, compelling visual content.

You will collaborate with social strategists, copywriters, medical writers, and fellow creatives to develop content and campaigns for clients across the life sciences, pharmaceutical, and healthcare industries. A strong multi-platform portfolio and a curiosity about evolving social trends, formats, and creative best practices are essential.

The ideal candidate will be based in eastern or central time.

Key Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

• Serve as a dedicated creative partner to the social media team, collaborating closely with social strategists and content leads on day-to-day content development, creative concepts, and execution
• Create high-quality, social-first visual content for audiences including healthcare professionals, scientists, patients, and caregivers across platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, and TikTok
• Design a range of organic and paid social assets, including static graphics, carousels, infographics, animations, short-form video, and campaign creative
• Develop paid social ads and campaign variations that meet platform specifications, placements, and safe-zone guidelines, including accommodations for Important Safety Information (ISI) and fair balance where required, and support creative testing and optimization
• Apply existing brand identities and guidelines to create cohesive, social-first assets, including graphics, typography, iconography, and motion treatments.
• Translate complex science, clinical data, and disease-state information into clear, engaging visual content for a variety of audiences
• Stay current on social media design trends, emerging formats, platform specifications, and healthcare social media best practices, and bring new ideas and inspiration to client work
• Partner with social strategists, fellow creatives, copywriters, and medical writers to brainstorm, concept, and execute creative for ongoing social programs and integrated campaigns
• Follow client brand guidelines and incorporate compliance requirements and review feedback, with guidance from the team.
• Manage multiple social design requests and priorities in close partnership with the social team, working efficiently and iteratively against fast-moving timelines

Qualifications and Skills

• 3-5 years of professional design experience with a strong focus on social media in an advertising, marketing, communications, or brand environment; healthcare, life sciences, or agency experience is a plus
• A portfolio demonstrating strong social-first design across multiple platforms and formats, including static graphics, carousels, motion, animation, and short-form video
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere Pro; proficiency with Figma and Canva; familiarity with social-first editing tools such as CapCut is a plus
• Strong motion design and video editing capabilities, with the ability to create engaging animations and short-form social content
• Ability to translate complex scientific concepts and technologies and translate key ideas into clear, compelling visual content for target audiences
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines in collaboration with social, copy, account and strategy.
• Strong communication skills, receptivity to creative feedback, a collaborative mindset, and curiosity about social platforms, trends, and emerging formats

As required by law in this state, the estimated salary range for this position is $60,000-70,000 USD and represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect. We tailor our offers within the range based on organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic zone, and the selected candidate’s experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. At CG Life, it is not common for individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus program, subject to the rules governing the plan.
