Designer

What could be more exciting than putting your mark on some of the world’s most famous and well-loved fashion brands? As a designer for Centric Brands, you’ll use your skills and creativity to create designs based on style plans, sales needs and emerging trends. You will also ensure that your work can be transformed into a finished product in a timely manner and at an appropriate price point. This means working not only with our technical design and production teams, but also building collaborative relationships with outside vendors and other external stakeholders. Specific Responsibilities Would Include

Centric Brands is seeking a Sleepwear Designer to work on exciting brands such as GAP and Favorite Daughter and more The Designer will work on both Men's and Women's sleepwear and will execute the seasonal design development process, from concept to delivery, by creating and executing original, trend-appropriate design concepts that meet market needs and drive sales. This role ensures the timely execution of each stage in the process while delivering elevated, brand-right product with strong commercial impact. The Designer will create seasonal color stories and concepts, drive fabric innovation, and bring a premium design sensibility rooted in exceptional technical expertise.

Strategy & Innovation

  • Research and identify trend directions; perform competitive analysis within premium and contemporary markets.

  • Pull and review fabrics; develop design concepts, presentation boards for meetings, mock-ups, color-ups, and inspirational materials.

  • Execute development of initial seasonal design categories within the context of a larger assortment, brand positioning, and cost structure.

  • Interpret and execute the brand DNA of GAP and Favorite Daughter, ensuring elevated aesthetics, quality, and consistency.

Operations & Results

  • Design according to style plans, sales needs, and emerging trends; ensure timely execution of the product development calendar.

  • Create highly detailed Adobe Illustrator sketches with accurate construction callouts and technical clarity.

  • Review specification sheets and line sheets; ensure accuracy of product development logs, boards, and design archives.

  • Maintain designs in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems or shared drives.

  • Select and review raw materials and trims; maintain an organized and up-to-date fabric/trim library.

  • Partner with sample room to create designer and showroom samples that reflect premium execution standards.

  • Approve lab dips with Senior Designer(s) to ensure consistency with color standards and licensor directives where appropriate.

  • Review prints and graphics where appropriate and advise revisions.

  • Lead and manage the fit process with strong knowledge of garment construction and pattern development.

Customers & Relationships

  • Coordinate follow-up with internal and external partners, including technical design, production, and vendors; manage interoffice communication.

  • Build collaborative relationships with vendors and internal teams to ensure premium quality and execution standards.

Leadership & Teams

  • Contribute positively to team dynamics and manage up where necessary.

  • Attract, develop, and retain talent.

  • Demonstrate superior organizational and communication skills; team-oriented mindset.

  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and maintain meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Our Best Fit Candidate Would Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design.

  • 4–5 years of experience in apparel/sleepwear design, preferably within premium brands.

  • Must have excellent Adobe Illustrator skills with the ability to create precise technical flats and detailed construction sketches.

  • Must possess extensive expertise in garment construction, pattern making, silhouettes, colorways, sewing techniques, fabrication, and trims.

  • Strong understanding of fit development and manufacturing processes.

  • Creativity combined with strong technical capability and merchandising sensibility.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, CAD, PLM systems, and Mac computers.

Salary Range: $80,000-$90,000

At Centric Brands, we believe our people are our greatest asset, and we seek to structure competitive compensation offers to ensure that we are able to attract and retain the best talent. Our job postings include an annual base salary range at the time of employment. The stated base salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on several factors, including the selected candidate's educational and professional experience, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. Base salary is a part of a total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, annual bonus and other Centric Brands sponsored benefit programs.
