Where is the work:

Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.

What's in it for you:

The Designer III position is responsible for creating 3D designs and modifying bills of material used in manufacturing customer-specific special air-handler units. This will require using Creo Parametric and proprietary Trane Technologies part generation software to model these customer units. The role also includes reviewing work for accuracy, following drafting standards, supporting the manufacturing team, and collaborating with a technical team to deliver high-quality, customer-focused designs. You will partner with a small team of designers and engineers to transform our standard equipment configuration to meet specific performance, acoustic, or thermal needs and innovate brand-new thermal-management solutions.

What you will do:

  • Use Creo Parametric and proprietary Trane Technologies software to model units with very specific customer requirements
  • Modify the bill of material to ensure the manufacturing site has all the required components necessary for each build
  • Interpret engineering instructions, drawings, schematics, and related documentation
  • Produce design documentation using CAD and product lifecycle management systems
  • Review designs and orders for accuracy before release to manufacturing
  • Follow established drafting standards, design practices, and company procedures
  • Support the manufacturing site with the completion of “Problem Logs” that will correct any design or data errors in standard catalog orders
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to deliver quality solutions
  • Continue building technical knowledge through training and development opportunities
  • Travel occasionally, as needed, to support products or training

What you will bring:

  • Associate’s degree in Mechanical Design or a related field
  • Experience in computer-aided design and drafting principles
  • Experience with 3D CAD software’s like Inventor, Solidworks, Solid Edge, or Creo Parametric
  • Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, drawings, and schematics
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Exposure to design for manufacturing and design within manufacturing constraints.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel formulas

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:

$52,300.00 - $74,199.99
