Job Description

Designer I is an entry level position for the professional Landscape Architecture staff. The primary activity for Designer I is to develop and document design or technical solutions, under the supervision of a Landscape Architect, that contribute to the overall success of each project.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Adhere to both Cooper Carry and Client guidelines and requirements and meet established deadlines for each project
  • Develop professional landscape architectural skills – including drawing, rendering, graphic and presentation skills utilizing internal resources
  • Develop computer skills for regularly used software (AutoCAD, Land F/X, Revit, Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Develop ability to make design and documentation decisions using discretion and good judgement
  • Prepare and produce design drawings and construction documents, as directed
  • Inform Project Leaders of potential project opportunities
  • Gain an understanding of site planning standards, applicable site codes, and construction methods
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Cooper Carry projects and project resources
  • Promote a collaborative and supportive team environment
  • Contribute as required to support the success of the studio and firm
  • Begin the licensure process to become a registered Landscape Architect

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited Landscape Architecture program with a Bachelor's or Master’s level degree

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
