Job Description

At Bayer we’re visionaries, driven to solve the world’s toughest challenges and striving for a world where ,Health for all, Hunger for none’ is no longer a dream, but a real possibility. We’re doing it with energy, curiosity and sheer dedication, always learning from unique perspectives of those around us, expanding our thinking, growing our capabilities and redefining ‘impossible’. There are so many reasons to join us. If you’re hungry to build a varied and meaningful career in a community of brilliant and diverse minds to make a real difference, there’s only one choice.

Design System Designer

What You’ll Be Doing:

You’ll play a key role in shaping and scaling our Design System - the foundation that enables consistency, efficiency, and creativity across all our digital products. Your mission will be to connect design and development, ensuring our design standards evolve to meet real user and business needs.

Your Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Building and maintaining the system: Creating and documenting UI patterns, components, tools, and guidelines that bring our strategic design vision to life.

  • Squad collaboration: Working closely with product teams and developers (FE & BE) in agile sprints, supporting the implementation and evolution of the Design System in live product.

  • Design maintenance: Continuously updating and improving the Design system so it is leaner and better documented.

  • Design support: Providing guidance and support to internal teams and external agencies — including accessibility reviews and documentation improvements.

  • Onboarding and enablement: Training new teams and agencies on how to use and contribute to the Design System.

  • Theme requests: Managing and designing brand or product-level visual customizations.

  • Continuous research: Observing how the Design System is used in real projects to identify frictions, opportunities, and long-term trends — and implementing these insights to evolve the system.

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of UX/UI design experience, including working directly with complex Design Systems for enterprise or large-scale products.

  • Proven hands-on experience contributing to Design System libraries — from component design to documentation and implementation.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working closely with cross-functional teams (designers, developers, product managers).

  • Solid understanding of technical constraints and opportunities in digital product design.

  • Awareness of inclusive and accessible design principles and their practical application.

  • Advanced mastery of Figma (auto-layouts, variants, constraints, styles, tokens, prototyping and slots).

  • Excellent visual design and UI craft skills, with an eye for detail and consistency.

  • Creative problem-solving mindset and ability to turn complexity into clarity.

  • Capacity to guide, train, and support other teams as they adopt and evolve within the Design System ecosystem.

  • Strong UX fundamentals, including information architecture, interaction design, and simplification of complex workflows and interfaces.
