The Design Leader will be responsible for Design performance of allocated contracts. As the Design leader you will become a key partner in our success!

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Responsibility for design project planning and updating Contract Manager (CM).
• Follow-up of contract-related technical requirements during the whole contract period (mechanical, hydraulic and electrical design).
• Responsibility for the technical performance of the design in accordance with the MCG standard and contract technical requirement.
• Contact with the Classification Societies and other Authorities including the distribution of drawings and obtaining the necessary technical approvals.
• Assist CM/Purchase responsible in technical discussions with customer and subcontractors.

Reporting directly to the Team leader, CAS mechanical. The position will be based in MacGregor' s office in Shanghai, China.

What you’ll need to succeed

We are looking for a person with basic knowledge of machinery and mechanics, and the ability to work with CAD software, e,g, AutoCAD and Inventor. As a person you are cooperative, customer oriented and have technical skills.

Ideally you have

• B.Sc. or equivalence in Mechanical Engineering
• Work on Marine or ship building for more than 5 years
• Good communication and team working skills
• Knowledge of steel structure design
• Fluent in both written and spoken English
