Job Summary

Iron Mountain is seeking an experienced Design Manager – Electrical to join our Data Center Engineering and Design team.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading end-to-end electrical design activities for mission-critical Data Center facilities, ensuring high-reliability power systems are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. You will guide projects through all phases—from initial concept and detailed engineering through site installation support and testing.

You will join a multidisciplinary team of engineers, architects, and project leaders committed to building resilient, scalable, and sustainable global digital infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Lead end-to-end electrical systems design and delivery: Direct the technical design of mission-critical electrical infrastructure—including Low-Voltage and Medium-Voltage power distribution, High-Tension and Low-Tension switchgear, Diesel Generator systems, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, substations, and earthing protection—to produce complete single-line diagrams, engineering calculations, and equipment specifications.
  • Drive multidisciplinary coordination and stakeholder alignment: Collaborate closely with clients, project managers, site teams, and external consultants across Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP), architectural, structural, and fire protection disciplines to resolve design conflicts, review shop drawings, respond to Requests for Information (RFIs), and manage value-engineering solutions.
  • Ensure technical compliance, quality, and safety standards: Enforce strict adherence to client requirements, project specifications, and recognized domestic and international engineering standards, such as the Uptime Institute, Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA-942), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), and local National Building Codes (NBC).

What You’ll Bring

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 10 to 15 years of electrical engineering design experience: A proven track record managing multidisciplinary design teams and executing complex electrical systems for data centers, critical infrastructure, or high-reliability industrial and commercial facilities.
  • Strong technical software and building services expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of electrical power distribution engineering, short-circuit and load calculations, and design software tools, including Computer-Aided Design (AutoCAD), Building Information Modeling (Revit MEP), and Electrical Transient Analyzer Program (ETAP).
  • Demonstrated leadership and collaborative problem-solving: Proven ability to manage design deliverables across multiple concurrent projects, evaluate constructability challenges, and mentor technical teams while meeting strict project milestones.
  • Relevant educational background: A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or a Master's degree / recognized professional engineering certification).
