Job Description

Our client is seeking a Design Engineer to join their team based in Kildare, working on a variety of civil infrastructure projects. This office-based role offers the opportunity to contribute to the design and development of key schemes across roads, drainage, and site development. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality technical designs and collaborating with project teams to ensure successful delivery. To be successful, the preferred candidate will have strong design experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and a solid understanding of civil engineering principles.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and technical reports for civil infrastructure projects.
• Support the planning and design of roads, drainage systems, and site development works.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure design intent is delivered on-site.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documentation and cost estimates.
• Conduct site visits and surveys to inform design development.
• Collaborate with project teams to resolve technical issues and optimise design solutions.
• Review and approve drawings and documentation from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to project reporting and documentation.

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in design engineering, ideally within civil infrastructure.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design software.
• Strong understanding of Irish design standards and construction practices.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
