We've partnered with a fast-growing AI startup that's building products used by thousands of companies deploying AI-powered voice agents at scale. They're looking for a Design Engineer who can bridge design and engineering while helping elevate the quality, consistency, and scalability of every customer-facing experience. The team is seeking top-tier talent to tackle complex infrastructure challenges, and the compensation reflects that level of ownership, with a highly competitive base, bonus structure, and strong Bay Area benefits.

NOTE We're looking for a designer who codes, not an engineer who designs.

Your current and recent experience should reflect a design-first background with strong front-end capabilities.

What You'll Be Working With:

Figma, React, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, Design Systems, Component Libraries, Storybook, Cursor, Claude Code, AI-assisted development workflows

What We're Looking For:

• 5+ years of full-time experience in product, UX, digital, or design systems roles with "Designer" in your title
• Advanced expertise in Figma, including creating, organizing, and scaling sophisticated component ecosystems
• Strong command of modern frontend technologies, with the ability to develop reusable UI components using React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
  
• Extensive experience designing, evolving, and governing design systems across growing product environments
• Deep understanding of design architecture, including tokens, spacing methodologies, reusable patterns, and maintaining consistency across complex interfaces
• Demonstrated success delivering production-ready UI components that are actively used within customer-facing products
• Hands-on experience leveraging AI-assisted development platforms such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools to accelerate and enhance development workflows
• Proven ability to combine design thinking with technical execution to create scalable, maintainable product experiences
• Strong perspective on where AI can improve efficiency, quality, and collaboration throughout the design and development process

• Think in systems, patterns, and reusable architecture
• Prototype directly in code instead of waiting for perfect specifications
• Obsess over spacing, alignment, consistency, and visual polish
  Enjoy collaborating equally with designers and engineers
• Can identify where AI accelerates development and where human judgment still matters

This is a 100% onsite/hybrid position based in the San Francisco Bay area.
