Job Description

Our client is seeking a Design Engineer to join their team based in West Dublin, working on a range of civil and utility infrastructure projects. This role involves supporting the design and coordination of works across water, wastewater, transport and general civils schemes. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of technical solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements. To be successful, the preferred candidate will have strong technical design experience, familiarity with Irish Water standards, and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and technical reports for civils and utilities projects.
• Support the planning and design of water, wastewater, and general infrastructure schemes.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure design intent is delivered on-site.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, codes, and Irish Water requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documentation and cost estimates.
• Conduct site visits and surveys to inform design development.
• Collaborate with project teams to resolve technical issues and optimise design solutions.
• Review and approve drawings and documentation from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to project reporting and documentation.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in design engineering, ideally within civils or utilities.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design software.
• Strong understanding of Irish Water standards and infrastructure design.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
