Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our team at our Malaga, WA branch.

This role will see you take engineering projects from initial concept through to detailed design, producing accurate drawings, bills of materials and supporting documentation for both internal and external customers.

From within the Engineering team you will work closely with , Sales, project management , Production and customers to develop practical design solutions that can be manufactured efficiently and delivered safely, accurately and on time.

What you will be doing

Concept & Detailed Design: Create concept and detailed designs using CAD packages.

Engineering Drawings & Documentation: Prepare drawings, bills of materials and project documentation from sketches, existing drawings, specifications and customer requirements.

Design Review, Standards & Quality: Review customer, company and supplier drawings and apply relevant Australian and international standards, company drawing requirements and quality assurance processes.

Team & Customer Collaboration: Work closely with, Sales, Production and customers to understand project requirements, develop practical solutions and resolve design issues.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve design processes, manufacturing efficiency, quality and safety.

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV or higher in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum five years’ experience in an engineering design and production environment
  • Experience producing concept and detailed designs, engineering drawings and bills of materials
  • Preferred experience in AutoCAD and Inventor inc (Autodesk Vault) or CREO/Windchill
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and relevant engineering standards
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet agreed deadlines
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and attention to detail
  • Preferred experience using SAP MM, SAP PP and Microsoft Office applications
