The Package Refurbishment & Upgrades (PRU) Design Engineer is responsible for the design of turbine and driven equipment system upgrades to existing fielded equipment for specific customer sales orders as part of a multi-disciplined project execution team. These industrial gas turbine package systems include: fuel, start, lube, air, compressor seal, fire and gas detection, enclosure ventilation, and all other package systems that support gas turbine and driven equipment operation. He or she will create or modify existing equipment documentation, associated device lists, and component source drawings. He or she will interface with PRU Project Application Engineering, PRU Project Management, Mabank Operations, Field Personnel, and other departments throughout the project execution process to ensure that all sales order deliverables meet end customer requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics / Instrumentation / Mechatronics/ Mechanical
• 0-1 years of relevant experience
• Fluent in English, both verbal and written
• Working knowledge of PLC (programmable logic controller) software
• Working knowledge of computer aided design & drafting CADD system (Promis-e preferred, AutoCAD, CADDS-5 alternates)
• Working knowledge of the basic theory of industrial control system applications, design, and operation
Preferred Qualifications:
• A degree-related internship
• Desired technical skills include programming of Rockwell Automation PLC 5 and ControlLogix 5000 processors
• Ability to write and communicate ideas clearly
• Ability to work well with others, team spirit, and flexibility with personal schedule to meet deadlines
• A sense of urgency and organizational skills are also required to work with multiple projects and competing priorities.
