What You Will Do

Are you a Design Engineer with experience in CCTV and Access Control systems? We’re looking for a skilled professional to support the design and delivery of high-quality security solutions across a range of projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical problem-solving, collaborative working, and contributing to systems that protect people and property.

How You Will Do It

As a Design Engineer, you will:

  • Design CCTV and Access Control systems for new installations and upgrades, working from customer and project requirements.
  • Support the sales and project teams with technical input, including site surveys and system acceptance testing.
  • Produce high-quality design documentation such as schematics, drawings, equipment layouts, parts lists, and specifications.
  • Carry out technical calculations including network bandwidth, power requirements, and equipment loading.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, regulations, and internal design guidelines.
  • Work closely with commissioning engineers and wider project teams to support smooth installation and handover, both remotely and on-site when required.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience working within the Security industry, particularly CCTV and Access Control systems.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • IP and analogue CCTV systems
    • Access Control solutions
    • IP networking technologies, including copper, fibre, and wireless
    • PC server and client architectures
  • Familiarity with VMS and ACS platforms such as C-Cure, Lenel, Genetec, or Synergy (or similar).
  • Desirable: exposure to Intruder alarms, BMS systems, and legacy protocols (RS232 / RS485).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with the ability to produce clear technical documentation.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, well-organized approach to managing multiple tasks.
