A Design Engineer within Drivetrain Team is responsible for supporting design, analysis, development, and validation of Caterpillar Drivetrain Components. The Drivetrain Component Team works to develop collaborative relationships internally, as well as with customers, suppliers and other functional groups to ensure goals are achieved. Supporting the Drivetrain Team, you will be supporting machines produced by Caterpillar and utilized by customers around the world.

Job Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Creates, implements and improves engineering designs, processes, techniques, tooling and machinery to meet customer requirements and maximize product quality.
  • Support manufacturing plants by contributing to the identification and implementation of efficiency and quality improvement projects.
  • Planning and improving engineering procedures and operations to make the product or process more reliable, efficient and cost-effective.
  • Collaborating with all functional areas, (purchasing, manufacturing) to provide a design solution that meets the requirements of the customer and dealer network.

Education Qualifications

  • Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Aerospace Engineering Bachelor’s in an accredited Engineering curriculum
  • Intermediate English-speaking level required.

What Skills you will have:

  • Knowledge of concept, design, test, analysis, detailing, or validation experience
  • Working experience in drivetrain systems and components
  • Knowledge of Product Development process such as NPI, CPI, FMEA, PPAP.
  • Identifies available resources and support systems for troubleshooting.
  • Describes problem identification, reporting and escalation procedures.
  • Proficient in CREO and CREO Simulate

Additional Information

  • The location for this position is available in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon.
  • Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 7am - 4pm.
  • This position will require 10% travel, domestic and international.
  • Relocation is not available.
