Job Description

The Design Draftsman Intern will assist with all aspects of mechanical, structural and electrical drawing packages associated with several different types of aircraft/rotorcraft repairs and modifications, to include research and process specification call-outs. The Design Draftsman Intern must utilize excellent communication skills to facilitate workflow between different team members. This role requires a range of activities from hands-on work to preparing presentations and maintaining project files.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Create multiview, pictorial and schematic technical drawings under direct supervision.
  • Utilize graphic and design skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, on multiple projects in varying stages.
  • Prepare mechanical and electrical drawings ranging from production quality to rough sketches.
  • Design and set up mockups with assistance of other departments.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure design drawings are complete and accurate.
  • Modify existing off-the-shelf products to comply with the needs of the company and produce proper documentation.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • In pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Design Programs, such as AutoCAD.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management.
  • Self-drive time management and organizational skills.
  • A portfolio of applicable recent work preferred.
