Job Description

Design Drafter/Engineering Support
Winco Stamping
Menomonee Falls, WI
$60,000 - $80,000

ABOUT YOU

Are you someone who enjoys building, designing, and figuring out how things work? Do you like seeing a product go from concept to a finished tool or part? In this role, you’ll work closely with a small team, supporting estimating, tooling, and production by creating designs and programs that directly impact what we build.
We’re looking for someone who is curious, detail-oriented, and motivated to learn. Whether you’re an experienced designer/engineer or someone earlier in your career with strong CAD skills, this role offers the opportunity to grow. If you take pride in your work, enjoy problem-solving, and want to be part of a team that brings customer designs to life, we’re ready to support your development.

As a Design Drafter / Engineer, you will support the design and development of tooling used to produce metal stampings. This role bridges engineering and production—translating customer designs into functional tooling, programs, and processes that can be built and run efficiently on the shop floor.

Core Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain tooling designs using CAD software (primarily SolidWorks)
  • Develop detailed drawings for new tooling and tool modifications
  • Support the transition and standardization of design systems and software
  • Generate CNC programs and support machining processes
  • Collaborate with engineering and production to ensure designs are manufacturable
  • Interpret customer prints and translate them into tooling concepts and designs
  • Assist in building routers and documentation for production processes
  • Revise and improve existing designs for efficiency, quality, and performance

Growth Opportunities

  • Take on increasing ownership of tooling design and development
  • Support continuous improvement and standardization efforts
  • Grow into a lead engineering or advanced design role over time
  • Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000
  • Hours: First Shift
