Position Summary
The Design Drafter role provides technical support to R&D and prepares technical drawings to aid in sales, while maintaining safe work practices. This role reports to the Engineering Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with Sales team and Engineering Department to generate product and application technical drawings.
- Generate general and project specific technical drawings to aid in the sales of Prinsco products including Underground Detention systems.
- Provide technical support for R&D and manufacturing process related projects.
- Provide project specific drafting and system layout support for sales team to increase proactive sales efforts, increase Prinsco presence among Engineers, and help to increase number of projects awarded.
- Convert engineers’ rough sketches into appropriate working drawings.
- Create Detention System layout drawings to assist in the bid/quote process.
- Create fabrication drawings for fittings/custom components.
- Provide drafting and technical support for quality, process, or other internal technical initiatives as projects arise.
- Maintain master file drawing library for Sales, Operations, and Engineering Drawings.
- Assist in the development of custom fitting configurations for sales support.
- Assist in the maintenance of sales support tools and resources.
- Focus on cross-training, continuous learning and improvement.
- Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or certificate in CAD with a minimum of six months of 2D & 3D design & drafting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong influencing skills with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to analyze data/facts/drawings to support valid conclusions and to solve practical problems or deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry, applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Proficient with MS Office products and AutoCAD experience required.
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds, occasionally.
- Valid driver’s license with the flexible to travel up to 10% to manufacturing sites.
