Piriou Vietnam, formerly South East Asia Shipyard was established in Vietnam at the end of 2006. Born half a century ago in Concarneau( Brittany-France), one of the largest fishing harbours in France, Piriou is a French leader in shipbuilding and ship repair for medium size vessels.

Piriou Vietnam build medium size, aluminum and steel vessels of up to 120 meters in length. The shipyard is specialized in offshore crew transfer vessels, offshore gas supply vessels, tugs, purse seiners, services boats and since recently, saling cargos.

WIth design offices in France and Vietnam, Piriou can design and build all types of work boats and fisching vessels upon customer requirements.

Since 2007, more than 110 aluminum vessels and nearly 60 steel vessels including, Multipurpose Ocean Going Resaerch vessels, deep freezer tuna purse seiners, expedition and yatch support vessels, long liners, tug boat, barges, fast rescue boats (FRB), Offshore industrial crew boats, passenger & sailing vessels and wind-farm support vessels (WFSV) have sailed away so far and going from Ben Luc/Nha Be facilities.

Design Coordinator

Appointed to designated projects, the Design Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the effective coordination, control, and delivery of design activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate technical queries received from production shipyards and assign them to the appropriate Design Team Leader when required.
  • Manage the project drawing register and ensure all drawings are issued to production shipyards in accordance with the project schedule.
  • Coordinate with Design Team Leaders to identify supplier documentation that must be transmitted to the shipyards.
  • Work closely with the Design Assistant to ensure drawings and supporting documentation are uploaded to Therefore and made available to the shipyards.
  • Ensure RFMs are completed in a timely manner and resolve any discrepancies between issued RFMs and shipyard requirements.
  • Coordinate design activities across all engineering disciplines to ensure consistency and integration of design modifications.
  • Liaise with the Project Manager and PING team regarding the management and implementation of design changes.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure outsourced deliverables are completed and issued on schedule.
  • Review and provide responses to comments from the Classification Society (BV).
  • Escalate technical issues, priority conflicts, or resource requirements to the Design Director when necessary.

Design Control

Monitor and control the work performed by the Design Office for assigned projects by:

  • Ensuring compliance with vessel specifications and applicable rules and regulations.
  • Verifying the quality of deliverables and adherence to ISO procedures.
  • Monitoring project progress against agreed schedules and ensuring timely release of drawings.
  • Following up on the progress and quality of the 3D modelling activities.

Communication and Coordination

Maintain effective communication and coordination between all stakeholders involved in the design process, including:

  • Project Management and Design through the head office design office in France
  • Detailed design subcontractors (e.g. TTSP).
  • Industrialisation teams (Piriou VIetnam HCMC shipyard i and Production and external shipyards).
  • Classification Societies and Flag Administrations (e.g. French Administration).

Provide accurate and timely reporting to the Design Manager on project progress, key issues, and overall design status.

Execution

Ensure assigned work is completed in accordance with company standards, project specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements.

The Design Coordinator may also be personally responsible for preparing and maintaining specific technical documentation, including:

  • Statutory drawings.
  • Technical notes.
  • Calculation reports.
  • Any additional documentation required by Classification Societies or Flag Administrations.


Profil recherché

Competencies :

  • - Knowledge of shipbuilding regulations, and specifically of the French codes
  • - Mastering of the complete ship design process. Project / Basic / Design / Industrialization / Preparation
  • - Knowledge in Mechanic and Process
  • - Be able to criticize a design principle and propose alternative solution
  • - Be able to respect the ISO procedures
  • - Be able to use Autocad and MS Office
  • - Knowledge of Cadmatic software
  • - Good written and verbal communication skills

Education and experience :

  • - Engineering degree with minimum 5 years’ experience
  • - Or Technician with more than 10 years’ experience (at least 5 years in Design Department)
