Job Description

Dermatology Specialty Veterinary Technician  Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists, Buzzards Bay, MAPay range: $22-$32/hr (Most new hires can expect an offer based on experience, expertise, and alignment with comparable positions within the hospital, typically between the minimum and the midpoint of the range)             If you’re an experienced veterinary technician who feels comfortable working with specialty cases and anesthesia—steady hands, sharp monitoring, calm in the moment—we’d love to meet you. At Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists (CCVS), our Dermatology team is looking for a technician with a strong anesthesia knowledge base (or solid anesthesia experience) and a genuine interest in growing and developing your advanced specialty skills. You’ll work directly alongside our Dermatologist as part of a supportive, cohesive team that takes pride in exceptional patient care and thoughtful client service.  Why this role is different Dermatology isn’t “just skin.” You’ll see complex, chronic cases and be part of procedures where your technical skill and anesthetic expertise make a defining difference.   • Assist with various specialty procedures and diagnostics
  • Provide anesthesia & procedure support
    • Set up, monitor, and recover patients for sedation and anesthesia
  • Track trends, anticipate needs, and communicate changes quickly and clearly
  • Advanced nursing & dermatology case support
  • Provide excellent care for hospitalized and outpatient patients
  • Support chronic dermatology patients and long-term care plans
  • Process laboratory samples and handle dermatology-specific diagnostics
  • Partner closely with doctors, technicians, and client service to ensure a smooth experience
  • Client communication
  • Confidently educate and support clients through chronic and recurring conditions
  • Communicate clearly with referring veterinarians as needed
What we’re looking for 
  • 2+ years experience as a veterinary technician
  • CVT/RVT/LVT preferred (or willingness/desire to obtain within 6 months)
  • Strong anesthesia experience and skills 
  • Specialty experience is a plus—Dermatology is preferred, but not required
  • Excellent communication skills and a teamplayer mindset
  • A collaborative, compassionate, and detail-oriented approach to patient care and team focused mindset
