Job Description

Susquehanna Financial Group (SFG) integrates expertise in trading, research, and sales to deliver value to institutional clients including mutual funds, hedge funds, and pension/endowment funds.

As a Derivatives Sales Trader Co-op, you will gain hands-on experience working on a trading desk while developing a deep understanding of financial markets, client engagement, and equity derivatives. You will collaborate closely with trading, strategy, market intelligence, and research teams to support client activity and generate market insights.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist sales traders in managing client relationships and responding to market inquiries
  • Collaborate with derivatives strategy and research teams on trade ideas and market analysis
  • Augment existing workflows to improve efficiency and better support institutional client needs
  • Build and maintain tools in Excel (and optionally Python/SQL) to support trading and automate reporting
  • Participate in desk discussions and real-time market decision-making
  • Learn how derivatives products are priced, traded, and positioned across markets

What we’re looking for

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel
  • Prior experience with Python, SQL, or VBA is a plus
  • Demonstrated interest in financial markets, especially derivatives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
  • Finance, Economics, Math, Statistics background a plus
