The Legal Department of JPMorgan Chase & Co is responsible for the provision of legal services to the Corporation and is organized by practice groups that generally align with the Corporation’s lines of business and corporate staff areas. This structure encourages legal teams and businesses and staff areas to discuss legal, regulatory and business developments effectively and in a timely manner.

We are currently hiring a highly skilled lawyer for US Macro Markets & Sales. Responsibilities will include drafting, discussing and advising on the full range of documentation relating to derivatives (including ISDA Master Agreements, futures documentation, clearing documentation and collateral documentation) and will assist the front office on structuring foreign exchange and derivatives transactions and on regulatory requirements relating to derivatives. You will join a successful, well established team of professionals, and will be provided with extensive training upon joining followed by continued on the job support when needed.

This position will give you the opportunity to collaborate directly with other areas of JPMorgan outside of the legal department, including, Sales, Traders, Compliance, Risk and Technology, among others.

The required qualifications are:

  • 5+ years’ of post-law school practice experience with a major law firm or in-house at a major financial institution. Prior experience with securities financing and/or drafting and negotiating agreements is helpful, but not Prior experience with derivatives preferred
  • Excellent writing skills, strong attention to detail
  • Polished verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with various internal partners outside of the legal department, as well as counterparties.
  • Ability to manage projects and work independently
  • Team player, confident and proactive. Willingness to learn. Comfortable asking for guidance.
  • Law degree. Attorney candidates must be in compliance with all relevant licensing requirements including the requirements of the jurisdiction where the role will be located prior to commencement of employment
  • All candidates for roles in the Legal department must successfully complete a conflicts of interest clearance review prior to commencement of employment
