Job Description

[What the role is]

The Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Department upholds Singapore’s reputation as a clean and trusted place to do business by strengthening the financial sector’s defences against money laundering, terrorism financing and proliferation financing. The AML Department develops sound regulations, conducts surveillance of dynamic risk developments, executes risk-based supervision in collaboration with MAS’ supervisory departments, and works closely with the public and private sectors to coordinate the broader national effort to combat such illicit finance.

[What you will be working on]

  • To conduct research of international best practices for national risk assessments in money laundering (ML), terrorism financing (TF), and proliferation financing (PF), including those in relation to legal persons and arrangements.
  • To assist in the review and enhancement of the updated ML, TF and PF national risk assessment methodologies for Singapore.
  • To assist in the development of the updated ML, TF and PF national risk assessments, including coordinating with other key stakeholders in the collection and analysis of relevant statistics and risk information.
  • To assist in the development of the updated national anti-money laundering (AML), counter terrorism financing (CFT) and countering the financing of proliferation (CPF) strategies for Singapore.

[What we are looking for]

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a policy, international, supervisory and/or statistic analytics role.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities, able to dissect policy issues and offer useful options and workable solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong data and statistics analytical skills.
  • Team player who is proactive and self-motivated, with a keen interest in shaping outcomes.
  • At the same time, able to work independently, with a proven ability to drive projects to produce quality outcomes in a timely manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to engage and positively influence internal and external stakeholders.

You will be working in a fast-paced environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and needs of stakeholders, as well as the agility to respond to changes and developments. As part of the shortlisting process for this role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment. This is a 1-year contract.
