At least 18 Months – 2 years’ experience post-registration Demonstrable expertise within a clinical speciality.
This role is not suitable for newly qualified nurses or preceptorship nurses.
You will be working on the Low secure ward, 4 beds, male and females, 18+
Our secure services offer comprehensive support to people with complex mental health needs. We model our service provision on the NHS secure service specification for medium and low secure services, ensuring our patients are given the highest quality of care to enable quick and smooth transitions into local services, wherever possible. We are committed to delivering clinically effective, evidence-based treatment programmes for individuals who require secure care, providing both psychological and physical security.
It also offers excellent transport links, including:
- A local bus stop, just along the street, providing access into and around Cardiff
- A train station just under 1 mile away
- The motorway network is nearby, via the M4, providing access to South Wales and South West England
What you'll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients
- Works as Senior Nurse in a Ward or equivalent area ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, their families and visitors.
- Apply relevant policies and statutory requirements within the ward and hospital framework of governance and communicates requirements to the wider team.
- Ensures that risk is assessed and managed across the immediate and wider working environment and that statutory requirements are met.
- Respects and applies the requirements of diversity and inclusion, promoting and role modelling these across the team.
You will join the team on the Low secure ward. In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.

What you'll bring to the role
Essential
- Hold current professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in mental health, along with at least 18 Months - 2 years’ experience post-registration, Demonstrable expertise within a clinical speciality
