Reporting to the Event Venue General Manager (EVGM) or Event Venue Manager (EVM), the Deputy Venue Manager will support the integrated planning and Games-time delivery of operations for an assigned competition venue. Working within the Organising Company (OC) planning frameworks, the role will assist in coordinating all competition venue functional areas (FA’s), working closely with our existing venue teams and supporting our embedded partners and suppliers to contribute to the “One Team” approach across all venue services. The role is a key support role to the Event Venue General Manager (EVGM) in both planning and delivery and will be required to deputise for the EVGM when not on shift. This position requires an experienced event professional who has previous major event experience within the Venue Management functional are. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, demonstrated experience in making decisions under pressure, an understanding of existing venue operations and have a commitment to delivering exceptional client and athlete experience.
Working arrangements
The role will initially be based at the Organising Company’s Glasgow city centre office, with visits to competition venues as required to support the effective delivery of responsibilities. As the Games approach, the role will transition to being primarily based at your assigned competition venue.
The position is initially contracted for 37.5 hours per week (with a 30-minute lunch break), with office attendance aligned to the Organising Company’s working pattern. During the Games-time operational period, shift patterns will apply and may include evenings and weekends.
