
St Margaret’s Hospice Care is excited to announce the opening of our new charity retail store in Taunton – Lisieux Way, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic Deputy Shop Manager to lead this exciting new venture.
As part of our charity retail team, you’ll play a key role in generating vital income that helps us support nearly 5,000 people across Somerset every year.
About our new store
Our brand‑new charity shop will offer a warm and welcoming retail experience, selling a wide range of quality donated clothing and bric‑a‑brac. Based in a small and friendly local precinct, it will be a little shop with great community feel – the perfect place to build a loyal customer base and create an inviting shopping experience from day one.
What can you expect to be doing?
As Deputy Shop Manager for a brand‑new store, you’ll play a key role in shaping the customer experience right from day one. Working closely with the Shop Manager, you’ll provide support and take responsibility for the store when needed.

St Margaret’s Hospice Care is a registered charity which has been at the heart of Somerset’s community, making each day count for over 45 years. We strive to delivery of high quality, responsive, compassionate care to patients and their families facing a life-limiting illness.
Through our medical expertise, nursing skills and specialist support services, we provide physical, emotional and spiritual care to over 5,000 patients and their families each year.
We put our patients at the heart of all we do; treating symptoms, controlling pain and caring for their emotional, psychological and spiritual needs. We support the whole family through a wide range of services such as intensive care in our In-Patient Unit, care at home, complimentary therapies and bereavement support for those who need it. We also support a wide range of support to carers, young and old. We provide care and support for families and friends for as long as they need us. We rely on over 1900 volunteers to help deliver our care.
Hospices are normally associated with cancer. We care for anyone with a life-limiting illness including motor-neurone disease, cardiac failure, renal failure, chronic respiratory disease and other life-limiting conditions.
We provide our services for free. St Margaret’s is a charity – we are not part of the NHS. Our income comes from the NHS and charitable sources from our local community. It costs over £15m each year to deliver our care. We are dependent upon the generosity of our Somerset community to help raise £12million.
