The Department

Radiation Oncology is a unit of a comprehensive cancer service, with sites located at The Alfred - Melbourne (ARO), Gippsland Radiation Oncology (GRO) at Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) - Traralgon and Sale Radiation Oncology (SRO) at Central Gipplsand Hospital (Sale). The service provides the full range of general radiation oncology and radiation therapy services in addition to some specialised services with both state and national significance.

The Role

Deputy Senior Radiation Therapist Clinical Grade 3 educator positions located at Gippsland Radiation Oncology (GRO), help support the Senior Clinical Educator in providing and maintaining a high-quality clinical education learning environment by working directly with learners (i.e. undergraduate students, graduates) and new staff. Salary commensurate with experience within the Grade 3 level.

The incumbent should have extensive skills and knowledge base in radiation therapy practice, experience in team leadership and well developed communication skills.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Extensive skills and knowledge base in radiation therapy practice commensurate with experience at this level
  • Ability to manage allocated personal workload efficiently and effectively and to a high quality
  • Developing experience in small team leadership
  • Demonstrated application of quality and safety issues, principles and practice
  • Engagement with continuing professional development
  • Demonstrated well developed interpersonal and communication skills enabling effective participation in a team and multidisciplinary environment
