Ensure Quality & Production Readiness Develop parts of the right quality to support desired production levels, strictly following the APQP process.
Drawing Study & Manufacturability Confirmation Review received drawings, validate manufacturability, and provide early feasibility inputs.
Cost Estimation & Negotiation Estimate costs component-wise, prepare detailed costing for new parts, and actively participate in settling material and tooling costs within budgeted values.
Supplier Selection & Engagement Select vendors in line with guiding policies, interface with commodity teams to identify potential suppliers, evaluate ratings, costs, and sourcing strategies.
Process Planning & Documentation Plan processes at the supplier’s end, prepare Process Flow Charts (PFC) and control plans, and cover applicable PPAP elements with complete documentation.
Trials, Validation & PPAP Clearance Be present during PPAP trial runs, inspect parts, ensure first-time-right PPAP approval, and confirm gateway compliance as per MPDS (Mahindra Product Development System) targets.
Tooling, Fixtures & Gauges Ensure appropriate fixtures, gauges, and tooling are planned and available for part development.
Quality Assurance & Statistical Controls Conduct MSA (Measurement System Analysis) and SPC (Statistical Process Control) where required. Guarantee 100% PIST (Percentage Inspection Points Satisfying Tolerance) and PIPC (Percent Indices Process Capable).
Feasibility & Project Involvement Actively participate in project feasibility studies, ensuring parts are developed at the right time and cost.
