Job Description

[What the role is]

As part of the Tote Board (TB) Grants Programmes team, you will support the development, assessment and management of grant programmes that address community and social needs, aligned with TB’s strategic outcomes.

You will gain exposure across the end-to-end grant lifecycle, working closely with senior colleagues to ensure effective and accountable grantmaking.

[What you will be working on]

1. Grant Curation

  • Conduct landscape scans and basic research to identify sector needs, trends and potential areas for funding.

  • Engage stakeholders (e.g. government agencies, social service agencies, partners) to gather inputs and support programme design.

  • Develop and curate programme proposals, ensuring alignment with Tote Board’s funding objectives.

2. Assessment of Grant Proposals

  • Evaluate grant applications submitted on the OurSG Grants Portal (OSG), ensuring alignment to TB’s vision and strategic outcomes.

  • Work with applicants to clarify proposal details, including the scope, outcomes and key performance indicators.

  • Prepare evaluation papers to seek approval from the relevant authorities.

  • Prepare and communicate funding agreements for approved programmes.

3. Grant Management

  • Play an active role in managing end-to-end grant lifecycle from application to programme closure, including processing claims and disbursement and ensuring compliance with funding terms.

  • Maintain regular engagement with grantees providing guidance on programme implementation and grant requirements.

  • Monitor the implementation of funded programmes, including the collection of data for analysis and tracking of outcomes and impact.

  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. Finance, Corporate Communications) on grant administration, reporting and grant publicity efforts.

  • Support the team in the analysis of programme data, tracking of programme outcomes in the delivery of regular progress updates, and report impact findings to Senior Management, Board and agency stakeholders.

  • Escalate issues or risks where necessary and support follow-up actions.

4. Others

  • Contribute to data analysis, database updates, business process reviews and enhancements to enhance grant effectiveness

  • Other ad hoc projects

[What we are looking for]

Requirements

  • Trained in relevant disciplines, including but not limited to Business Management, Public Administration, or Social Sciences.

  • Minimum of 2–5 years of relevant experience in partnership development, grants management, project coordination, or a similar role in the non-profit or public sector. Applicants with no experience, or those with some relevant internship or project experience may apply.

Key competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to review information and draw sound conclusions.

  • Good written and communication skills, including clear documentation and reporting.

  • Strong organisational and coordination skills, with attention to detail

  • Ability to engage and work with multiple stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a structured manner

  • Basic understanding of data analysis and interpretation, familiarity with data tools or visualisation is an advantage.

  • Self-motivated team player who is able to work both independently and collaboratively
