Rocket Padel Ilford followed as London’s largest indoor padel club, offering a large-scale premium playing and social experience. Rocket Padel Battersea brought the brand into one of London’s most iconic locations with a boutique premium club at Battersea Power Station, while Rocket Padel Beckton continues the company’s growth with a modern multi-purpose venue featuring indoor and outdoor courts, gym and wellness facilities, café and lounge areas, co-working spaces, and premium changing facilities.

Roles & Responsibilities

The Deputy Manager will work closely with the Club Managers and senior leadership team to support the overall operational management of Rocket Padel Ilford & Beckton. The role will involve overseeing day-to-day operations across both venues, ensuring the clubs operate efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards at all times.

The Deputy Manager will play a key leadership role across all departments, helping to drive operational excellence, staff performance, member satisfaction, and commercial success while maintaining full compliance with company policies and regulations.

Operational Management

You will support and oversee the daily operations across both Rocket Padel clubs, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and high standards throughout the facilities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the day-to-day operational running of both clubs

  • Ensuring high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and customer experience across all areas

  • Coordinating operations between reception, coaching, gym, events, and F&B departments

  • Assisting with operational problem-solving and ensuring smooth service delivery during peak periods

  • Supporting the implementation and maintenance of operational procedures and standards

  • Acting as Manager on Duty when required

Staff Management

You will support the leadership, organisation, and performance management of staff across both venues.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and overseeing staff rota scheduling across departments

  • Ensuring appropriate staffing levels during peak and off-peak hours

  • Supporting Duty Managers and team leaders in maintaining service standards

  • Assisting with recruitment, onboarding, training, and staff development

  • Monitoring staff performance and supporting disciplinary or performance procedures where required

  • Promoting a positive, professional, and team-oriented working culture

Safeguarding & Staff Welfare

You will support safeguarding responsibilities and staff welfare procedures across both facilities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting safeguarding procedures and escalating concerns appropriately

  • Acting as an emergency escalation contact when necessary

  • Supporting staff wellbeing and maintaining a safe and inclusive working environment

  • Assisting with incident management and reporting procedures

  • Promoting professionalism, accountability, and duty of care across all departments

Food & Beverage Operations

You will support the management of café and bar operations to ensure efficiency, profitability, and high service standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support food and beverage purchasing and supplier coordination

  • Assist in monitoring stock levels and supporting stock control procedures

  • Supporting the daily operation of café and bar services

  • Assisting with hygiene, cleanliness, and compliance standards

  • Supporting revenue growth through strong operational standards and customer experience

Compliance & Safety

You will support the Club Managers in ensuring both facilities operate safely and in line with all company policies and legal requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting health & safety procedures and compliance standards

  • Ensuring operational compliance across both sites

  • Assisting with risk assessments, incident reporting, and operational follow-up

  • Supporting Duty Managers with operational issues and emergency procedures

  • Maintaining a safe environment for staff, members, and guests

Communication & Reporting

You will help ensure strong communication and operational reporting standards across both clubs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring staff correctly use Microsoft Teams communication channels for:

    • Operational reporting

    • Incident logging

    • Internal communication and updates

  • Monitoring communication standards to ensure information is logged and followed up appropriately

  • Supporting structured handovers between shifts and departments

  • Assisting with operational reporting to senior management

  • Supporting consistency between both club locations

Member Experience & Community

You will help deliver an exceptional member experience and contribute to the growth of the Rocket Padel community.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting high levels of customer service across all departments

  • Assisting with member enquiries, complaints, and escalations professionally

  • Supporting club events, socials, and community engagement initiatives

  • Helping create a welcoming, energetic, and premium club atmosphere

  • Supporting membership retention and member satisfaction initiatives

Partnerships

You will support the development and management of partnerships across both clubs, helping strengthen commercial relationships and enhance the Rocket Padel community experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting and maintaining strong relationships with club partners and sponsors

  • Assisting with partnership sales opportunities and commercial activations

  • Coordinating and supporting partner events and hospitality experiences

  • Ensuring partners are represented professionally within the clubs

  • Supporting collaboration opportunities between partners, events, and the wider Rocket Padel community.

  • Assisting senior management with partnership communications and relationship management
