The Position

Deputy Manager - Quality & Production

Common Responsibility as an Imerys Employee

  • Investigating and setting standards of Quality, Health and Safety

  • Ensuring that manufacturing processes comply with standards at both domestic and international levels

  • Working with operating staff to establish standards, systems, and procedures

  • Act as a catalyst for change and improvement in performance

  • Directing objectives to maximise profitability

  • Recording, analysing, and distributing statistical information

  • Responsible leader with continuous coaching / mentoring functional and cross-functional teams

  • Assisting plant managers in reaching plant production, Customer satisfaction, and costing goals.

  • Schedule and conduct meetings as and when necessary.

  • Attend scheduled corporate training and meetings.

  • Improve the 5S of your area and overall plant standard, Deploy problem-solving techniques to find an innovative solution

  • Responsible for People management & development.

  • Networking with the other Plant (both internally & externally)

  • Assist the EHS engineer in Risk assessment, safety training and in safety related activities.

Quality Function Responsibilities

  • Assessing customer requirements and ensuring that the standards are met or exceeded

  • Writing management and technical reports and customer complaint investigations

  • Determining training needs, conducting routine training for the teams, and self-training for improvements

  • Supervising technical or laboratory staff

  • Responsible for the product quality control for the entire plant

  • Maintaining a clean and safe laboratory

  • Find proactive means of recipe optimization, alternative development , re-formulation, etc

  • Establish and direct Lab policies and procedures

  • 10% of the job profile involves travelling. ( RM vendor/Mine visit , Customer visits , QC inspection etc)

Production Function Responsibilities

  • Managing the resources for the production activities in a shift

  • Manpower planning, allocation and deployment in shifts

  • Production of products as per quality and quantity in shifts

  • Supervising the production activities and ensuring that all activities are carried out as laid down in Standard Operating Procedures

  • Organize workflow and ensure that contract workmen understand their duties or delegated tasks

  • Monitor productivity on a day-to-day basis

  • Training new contractor workmen in all aspects of EHS, Production, Quality.

  • Production planning, process control, dispatch arrangements, sorting out quality issues after supply.

  • Ensure the safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance

  • Assist the maintenance team in troubleshooting activities

  • Education and Experience requirements:

  • A Bachelor/Master degree in QC/Chemical/Chemistry/Ceramic Engineering/Any similar stream.

  • 5-8yrs of experience.

  • Preferably from Sanitary ware, Tiles, Ceramics Mineral processing industry
