Job Description

Mission and Main Objectives

This role provides essential support to the Legal Team across a broad range of legal matters, reporting directly to the Legal Manager, Regulatory and Litigation. It offers a unique opportunity to work cross‑functionally with key stakeholders, business partners, and external counsel to deliver high‑quality legal services. A core focus of the role is supporting the team in managing group litigation defence and related regulatory investigations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage critical tasks and workflows for ongoing litigation and regulatory matters.
  • Support the Legal Manager in coordinating and prioritising work across the team to ensure timely completion of key actions.
  • Act as the central point of contact for tracking project timelines, milestones, and deadlines.
  • Implement and maintain project management tools and systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks or issues, and escalate appropriately to the Legal Manager.
  • Prepare regular status updates and progress reports, highlighting potential bottlenecks.
  • Review legal documents and prepare concise summaries where required.
  • Conduct legal research to support litigation and regulatory matters.
  • Assist in preparing reports and executive briefings on litigation and regulatory topics for review by the Legal Manager.
  • Support budget tracking and financial monitoring for litigation and regulatory activities.
  • Liaise with external legal counsel as appropriate.
  • Coordinate team inputs for objectives tracking and reporting to senior management.
  • Provide meeting preparation and general administrative support to the Legal Team.
  • Deliver high‑quality legal support across all matters within scope.

Experience and Qualifications

  • This role would suit a junior lawyer, ideally with exposure to litigation or contentious matters.
  • Experience working in an in‑house legal environment is preferred.
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working remotely and managing competing priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, and self‑motivated, with strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Able to build trust and gain commitment from key stakeholders.
  • Confident using initiative and adopting a solutions‑focused approach, while recognising when to seek guidance.
  • Demonstrates resilience and the ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast‑changing environment.

Minimum Skills & Education

  • Qualified lawyer.
  • Degree‑level education.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Teams, Planner, Excel, Word, and Outlook (essential).

Language Requirements

  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential
