The Senior Engineer will be responsible for design coordination, detailed engineering, construction management, and project execution of building infrastructure and utility systems across Ford Land assets.
The role includes end-to-end project ownership from concept to commissioning, ensuring that all works are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with Ford standards and statutory requirements.
The role requires regular site presence and supervision to ensure quality construction, contractor safety compliance, and adherence to engineering standards.
Engineering & Design Management - Responsible for engineering and technical oversight of:
Building design and construction
Utility infrastructure and distribution systems
HVAC systems and air-tempering systems
Electrical distribution networks including 110 kV switchyard
Diesel generator systems and diesel tank farms
Lighting systems and electrical infrastructure
Fire protection and fire alarm systems
Water treatment plants and plumbing systems
Building Management Systems (BMS)
Internal roads and site infrastructure
Coordinate with design consultants, project management consultants, and contractors to ensure that designs meet Ford engineering standards and operational requirements.
2. Project Execution & Construction Management
Manage site construction activities and contractor execution
Ensure projects are delivered within scope, schedule, and approved budget
Monitor construction quality and engineering compliance
Coordinate project planning, scheduling, and progress tracking
Ensure proper testing, commissioning, and handover of systems
3. Safety, Environmental & Operational Compliance
Ensure strict adherence to Ford safety, hygiene standards and EHS requirements
Monitor site safety, housekeeping, and environmental compliance
Ensure safe execution of all construction activities
Maintain documentation related to safety permits and compliance audits
4. Procurement & Cost Management
Support project procurement activities including technical evaluations and contractor selection
Monitor project costs and budgets
Manage project material tracking, stores coordination, and inventory control
Support asset management and scrap / waste disposal processes
5. Government & Statutory Approvals
Coordinate with government authorities and statutory agencies for:
Construction approvals (CMDA, DTCP)
Electrical approvals (CEIG, TNEB)
Fire department approvals (TNFRS)
Environmental permits (TNPCB)
Safety approvals (DISH)
Ensure projects comply with local regulations and statutory requirements.
6. Governance & Ford Compliance
Ensure adherence to Ford internal controls, engineering standards, and compliance requirements
Maintain project documentation and reporting
Support internal audits and compliance reviews related to projects and facilities.

University’s degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Civil / Structural Engineering
