Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

As Deputy Manager - CPE FD ZHB at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in steering the design and engineering processes specific to tractor manufacturing within the Farm Division. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Leading cross-functional teams to develop innovative packaging designs optimized for tractor components, ensuring durability and cost efficiency throughout the supply chain.

  • Managing and negotiating contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with vendors, maintaining a balance between cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Implementing robust quality assurance protocols to ensure that all engineering deliverables meet or exceed industry and company standards.
  • Utilizing market and trend analysis to inform engineering decisions, enabling Mahindra & Mahindra to maintain competitive advantage through innovation-led transformation.
  • Overseeing the entire lifecycle of tractor component projects from conceptualization through to production readiness, ensuring adherence to sustainability and frugal innovation principles.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing processes, focusing on enhancing efficiency, reducing waste, and elevating product performance.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to anticipate challenges and develop strategic solutions aligned with broader business objectives.

Education Qualification

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or in a closely related field that provides comprehensive knowledge in areas such as mechanical design, materials science, manufacturing processes, and systems engineering pertinent to tractor manufacturing.

In addition to foundational qualifications, candidates with advanced certifications or coursework in quality assurance, project management, or supplier relationship management will be preferred. This formal education enables the ability to bridge conceptual designs with practical manufacturing considerations effectively.

Familiarity with automotive industry manufacturing standards and protocols will be highly beneficial, ensuring compliance and quality in production. Applicants should bring a robust track record of 3 to 5 years of professional experience within the automotive or farm equipment manufacturing sectors. Experience negotiating service contracts, analyzing supplier capabilities, and managing deliverables through cross-functional teams is essential. Demonstrable skills in managing critical timelines and delivering project milestones will underpin successful performance.

An acute understanding of market trends and component-specific analytics will empower candidates to influence strategic business directions and foster innovation within the Farm Division. The role demands a proactive mindset, with capability to navigate complex project landscapes while aligning with organisational objectives.
