Job Description

Project Execution & Construction Management

• Execute mechanical construction activities for Boiler, Turbine, Generator (BTG) and Balance of Plant (BOP) packages.
• Monitor erection, installation, alignment, testing and commissioning activities of mechanical equipment.
• Ensure project activities are completed as per approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards and project schedule.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs, consultants and cross-functional teams for smooth project execution.
• Monitor resource deployment including manpower, equipment, tools and materials.

Boiler, Turbine & Mechanical Systems

• Supervise erection and commissioning activities of:
• Boiler Pressure Parts
• Boiler Structures
• Steam Generators
• Coal Mills
• Air Preheaters (APH)
• ESP
• Steam Turbine & Auxiliaries
• Condenser Systems
• Cooling Water Systems
• Mechanical BOP Equipment
• Monitor critical piping erection including Main Steam, Hot Reheat, Cold Reheat, Feed Water and auxiliary piping systems.

Planning & Progress Monitoring

• Prepare and track project schedules and milestones.
• Conduct daily, weekly and monthly progress reviews with contractors and project stakeholders.
• Monitor construction progress and identify schedule risks.
• Ensure timely closure of punch points and commissioning observations.

Quality & Safety Compliance

• Ensure adherence to project quality plans, inspection protocols and statutory requirements.
• Monitor compliance with safety standards, HIRA, PTW, LOTO and EHS procedures.
• Participate in audits, quality inspections and safety reviews.
• Drive a zero-harm culture across all project activities.

Vendor & Contractor Management

• Coordinate with OEMs such as BHEL, GE, Siemens, Doosan, Toshiba and other package vendors.
• Evaluate contractor performance and ensure achievement of project milestones.
• Monitor material availability, inventory management and site logistics.

Testing & Commissioning

• Support:
• Hydro Testing
• Boiler Light-Up
• Chemical Cleaning
• Steam Blowing
• Equipment Trial Runs
• Synchronization
• PG Test Activities
• Ensure successful handing over from project to O&M team.

Essential Qualification

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Experience

• 8 to 12 Years of relevant experience in Thermal Power Plant Construction Projects.
• Experience in 300 MW, 500 MW, 600 MW, 660 MW or 800 MW thermal power projects.
• Experience in EPC, Project Construction, Erection, Testing & Commissioning.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Experience with organizations such as Adani Power, NTPC, BHEL, L&T Power, Tata Projects, ISGEC, Power Mech, GE Power, Siemens Energy, Doosan, JSW Energy, Vedanta Power, Reliance Power, Jindal Power, or other major thermal power project organizations.
• Strong exposure to construction and commissioning of supercritical thermal power plants.
• Proven track record in achieving construction milestones while maintaining safety, quality, and project timelines.
• Ability to lead site teams, contractors, and multi-disciplinary stakeholders.
