Job Title: Deputy Manager (Children’s Residential – EBD)

Salary: £33,280 per annum (based on 40 hours/week at £16.00/hour)

Service Users: Children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
Qualifications Required: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent as recognised by Ofsted)
Experience Required: Experience in an Ofsted-regulated children’s residential setting (EBD experience preferred)
Employment Type: Fixed-term / Project-based (with potential for extension or permanent opportunity)
A specialist children’s home in Doncaster supporting young people with EBD. The focus is on stability, consistency, and relationship-based care, with clear routines and a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach.
This role is suited to a Deputy Manager who is ready to progress into a Registered Manager role. You’ll play a key part in supporting homes that may be under pressure, strengthening practice, rebuilding culture, and helping the Manager embed robust systems and consistent standards.
A clear Personal Development Plan (PDP) will be in place from the outset, supporting your pathway into management.
✅ Experience in an Ofsted-regulated children’s home (EBD)
✅ A confident leader who can stabilise teams, set standards, and lead by example
✅ Strong safeguarding knowledge and a sound understanding of Children’s Homes Regulations and the SCCIF
✅ Skilled in supervision, coaching, performance management and developing staff practice
✅ Able to support improvement plans, quality assurance, audits and action tracking
✅ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent as recognised by Ofsted)
✅ Resilient, values-led, and committed to achieving positive outcomes for children
Temporary/project-based role (with potential to extend or become permanent)
Structured PDP and progression route towards Registered Manager
Ongoing training and development

Individuals with only CQC experience and no children’s residential (Ofsted) experience will not be considered.
